Nature At Christmas

Nature offers a bounty of beautiful colours around the Christmas season, from the vibrant reds of the robins and berries to the earthy remnants of autumn’s browns, greens and clarets in the vegetation.

The weather is bringing forth lower temperatures, blustery winds and showers and the smaller birds are taking shelter in the hedgerows and trees, however there is still an abundance of wildlife activity to experience at this time of year.

On a recent late December trip to RSPB Rainham Marshes reserve the robins and dunnocks were searching for their next meal, whilst the blackbirds had found theirs, devouring plump whole berries from the bush.

As the seasons roll on I”m looking forward to nature’s winter wonderland ahead.

Seasons greetings, and a happy new year!
